PARIS, FRANCE, JULY 18, 2016 - Mersen, global expert in electrical specialties and advanced materials, today announced winning a multi-year contract with Bombardier Transportation to supply cooling devices and laminated bus bars for the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) project over a five year period.
The project started with Bombardier in 2011 and allowed Mersen to showcase its’ global account management, collaboration, and entrepreneurial vision across multiple offices in the United States, Germany, France, and Canada.
This $8.5 Million contract with Bombardier Transportation is the largest contract of this kind in the history of Mersen. Throughout the project Mersen has developed an intimacy with our customer to coordinate across regions. A very critical requirement included the Buy America compliance, which Mersen was able to comply based on the resources from teams in Ontario and New York.
According to Gilles Boisseau, Group VP Electrical Power segment, “This success represents a major source of satisfaction for all the teams involved. The award of the contract by Bombardier is testimony to our ability to provide integrated solutions, leveraging the close relationships built by technical and sales teams with our customers.”
Shipments to Bombardier Transportation will start in the 2nd half of 2016.
