CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
Customer needed two different cold plates: one to cool some semiconductors (IGBT, Resistors), and one to be coupled to the ABB Inverter modified from air cooling to liquid cooling.
THE SOLUTION
Mersen was able to supply two different double-sided cold plates.
THE MERSEN DIFFERENCE
- Our technology for cold plate manufacturing is milling for the internal hydraulic circuit and vacuum brazing for the final cold plate assembly
- The joint during vacuum brazing between the base plate with the hydraulic cooling circuit and cover plate is ensured by brazing sheet Al 3003/4004
- Vacuum-brazed liquid-cooled with frame in AL6060 with cooling channels machined and closed by only one cover in alu 1050
