In medical technology, capacitors are used for example in imaging systems, ultrasound devices and in defibrillators.  In X-ray devices, capacitors smooth the alternating current in high-voltage cascades to ensure a high-quality ray. Special high-voltage film capacitors that enable a voltage of up to 120 KV DC are ideal for this purpose.

Above all, capacitors used in medical technology must be extremely reliable, with high power density. These products are designed for low internal resistance and low inductance. High pulse resistance – the capability of delivering high pulsed current without sustaining mechanical electrical damage – is likewise required. FTCAP capacitors can be implemented in diverse versions and custom designs are no problem: this means that the new capacitors can also be integrated in existing installations.
